Toilet Installation in Fall City, WA

New Toilets, Flange Repairs and Resets in the Village and Up the Hill

Lighthouse Plumbing installs and replaces toilets in Fall City from our shop in the village, so a toilet call here is minutes away. We supply a new American Standard or Toto, or set one you've bought, on a new wax ring, closet bolts and supply line, check the flange and shutoff, test it and haul the old toilet away.

Recent Toilet Work in Fall City

In June, PJ replaced the toilet in a bathroom a few doors from our shop with an American Standard Cadet Pro, the comfort-height round-front model with a soft-close seat. The old toilet came out and went on the truck, the new one went down on a new wax ring with new closet bolts and a new supply line, and the base was caulked after testing.

Before: the old toilet in the same spot. The replacement went onto the existing flange and supply with nothing else changed.

In May the call was an emergency. Water was coming through the kitchen ceiling of a house up on the plateau west of the village, near the Sammamish line, and the drywall was already damaged. Bradyn traced it to the master bathroom toilet directly above the kitchen sink, pulled the toilet and found the plastic closet flange broken. The homeowner chose to replace the flange rather than patch it, so he cut out the old one, set a new flange with a metal ring, reset the toilet on a new wax ring, shimmed it level on a floor that was not, siliconed the bowl to the floor and asked the family to stay off it until the silicone cured. One visit, the same afternoon they called.

The rest of our 2026 Fall City toilet work, all on homes with a Fall City address in unincorporated King County, fills in the picture:

  • In September, Mykal replaced all five toilets in one Fall City home with Toto Drake elongated comfort-height toilets, each with a soft-close seat, a new supply line and new closet bolts, and hauled the old five away.
  • At the end of August, Beau and Ivan set three toilets the homeowner had bought, all Kohlers, on new wax rings with three new supply lines and two new angle stops, and installed a bathroom faucet while they were there. The upstairs toilet sat on an old plastic flange, which they recommended replacing with a metal one before they would warrant that seal.
  • In July, on the day a Fall City homeowner had the septic tank pumped, Beau cleared the blocked line and reset the toilet, and at the end of September he cleared a clogged toilet in another Fall City home.

What We Install in Fall City

New toilets we supply

American Standard Cadet Pros and Toto Drakes, round-front or elongated, standard or comfort height, with a soft-close seat, new wax ring, closet bolts and braided supply line. The old toilet leaves with us.

Toilets you've bought

We set a toilet you've picked out the same way, as Beau and Ivan did with the three Kohlers in August. Tell us the model when you book so we bring the right supply line.

Flange repairs and resets

When a toilet rocks, leaks at the base or sends water to the room below, the fix is under it rather than in it: a new wax ring, a repaired or replaced flange, shims on an uneven floor. The parts inside the tank are covered on our toilet repair page.

Fall City-Specific Toilet Considerations

Every Fall City toilet drains to a septic tank

Fall City has no public sewer. Every toilet in the village and on the hills around it flushes to a septic tank on the property, so a toilet that backs up with nothing stuck in it is as likely to be a full tank or a blocked line to it as a toilet problem. Our July visit went the right way round: tank pumped first, then the line cleared and the toilet reset. Our Fall City sewer page covers the septic side; a new toilet is never the fix for a backed-up drain.

District water in the village, wells beyond it

Inside the village, the water comes from Fall City Water District's wells, at the low end of moderately hard and with no chlorine added, so fill valves and flappers last well here. Past the district's lines, homes run on private wells, and a toilet that fills slowly or keeps running can be a pressure tank or sediment filter question as much as a toilet question. We look at both before we blame the fill valve.

Flanges and uneven floors in older valley houses

Both of our 2026 flange calls in Fall City involved plastic flanges, one broken and one too tired to warrant a seal on. Older valley houses also settle, and a bowl on a floor that is no longer level rocks until the wax ring fails. We shim and seal the base when the floor needs it, as Bradyn did in May, rather than tightening the bolts until the china cracks.

Permits come from Public Health, not a city hall

Fall City is unincorporated, so plumbing permits here are issued by Public Health Seattle & King County. Clearing a clog, resetting a toilet and replacing the parts inside the tank are repairs under the state plumbing code and need no permit, and our June replacement went onto the existing flange and supply with none involved. If a job means rebuilding the drain or the flange piping, we tell you before we start.

Our Process

1. Look first

We check the toilet, the flange, the shutoff and the floor, and give you the price before any work starts. If the complaint is a backup, the septic tank comes first.

2. Remove the old toilet

Water off at the shutoff, or at the main when the shutoff will not hold, then the supply disconnected and the old toilet lifted off the flange.

3. Set the new one, or fix what's under it

A new wax ring, new closet bolts and a new supply line, the flange repaired or replaced first when it needs it, the toilet set level and secured.

4. Test and haul away

We flush it, check the base, the tank and the supply connection for leaks, and take the old toilet with us.

Frequently Asked Questions: Toilets in Fall City

How much does it cost to replace a toilet in Fall City?

On our 2026 valley invoices, replacing one toilet with a new Toto Drake or American Standard Cadet Pro we supply ran about $950 to $1,350, including the wax ring, bolts, supply line, seat and haul-away. The June Cadet Pro came in at the low end, and five Toto Drakes in one Fall City home ran just under $6,000.

What moves the price: a shutoff that will not close, a flange that needs repair, or a toilet beyond the standard lines. Replacing a broken flange and resetting the toilet to stop a leak, as in May, topped $1,600.

Do I need a permit to replace a toilet in Fall City?

Not for a like-for-like replacement onto the existing flange, and not for clearing a clog, resetting a toilet or replacing fill valves and flappers, which are repairs under the state plumbing code. Rebuilding the drain or the flange piping does need a permit, and in unincorporated Fall City it comes from Public Health Seattle & King County.

My Fall City toilet backs up, but nothing is stuck in it. Is it the septic tank?

Often, yes. With no public sewer in Fall City, a toilet with a clear trap that still backs up usually points at a blocked line to the tank or a tank that needs pumping, especially when other drains are slow. Pump the tank, then have the line cleared, and if it keeps happening, have it scoped.

Can a toilet leak into the ceiling below without any water on the bathroom floor?

Yes, and that is what happened in May. When the flange or the wax seal fails, each flush sends a little water down the outside of the drain into the floor framing, where it travels to the ceiling instead of pooling at the base. A rocking toilet, or a damp ring in the ceiling under a bathroom, is the tell.

Should a plastic toilet flange be replaced with a metal one?

When it is broken or soft, yes. A plastic flange carries the toilet on two bolt slots, and once the ring cracks the toilet rocks and the seal fails. We cut the old flange out and set a new one with a stainless ring, which is what the May repair got and what Beau recommended in August.

Serving Fall City from Fall City

Our shop is in the village, so a toilet call in the blocks around the Roadhouse, up at Lake Alice, along the Preston-Fall City Road or on the plateau above the Redmond-Fall City Road is minutes away. We cover the rest of the valley the same way, in Carnation, Duvall, Snoqualmie and North Bend.

Why Fall City Homeowners Call Us About Toilets

We are already here

The June job was a few doors from the shop and the May leak was handled the afternoon it was called in.

We fix what is under the toilet

Two of our 2026 Fall City calls were flanges, not toilets, and a new toilet on a broken flange leaks like the old one.

The septic question comes first

Every Fall City toilet drains to a tank, so when the complaint is a backup we ask when it was last pumped before we reach for a tool.
